Motherhood

Motherhood! The most talked-about topic but also the one most stand clear from. It is draining, it is hard, it is rewarding, it is emotional, and well it is just all the things. Some days now that I'm currently growing a little human while taking care of a one-year-old, and making sure my 5-year-old has my undivided attention I'm like what did I ever do to myself. Then there are days like today where I am beyond thankful that God allowed me to grow such perfect humans, this is more than I ever imagined when I use to dream of becoming "mommy". My heart is complete and full.

I've been reading a book called Grace Not Perfection and if you haven't read it yet I advised you now stop reading now and go order. I'm not even halfway through but this book has made me realize so much about motherhood and just in general LIFE! It stuck out to me when she talks about how a lot of times we get caught up in having this perfect life. The perfect clothes, Pinterest worthy decor, our kid's learning and behaving a certain way because we see others and want what they have. But how can you want more or expect more when your not content and happy with what you already have. I have done this so many times and just recently started realizing I don't know what they have going on behind closed doors that the same person I'm comparing myself too could be struggling to keep it all together. So mama the next time you bash yourself because the kids went to be a little later than normal, you went to bed with a dirty kitchen, or you haven't washed your hair in weeks remember your giving it your all and that's all that matters. At the end of the day, your kids just need love and your attention all other things will fall into place. Your not alone in this and I'm sure I'm not the only mom who starts looking left and right from time to time we are guilty of this. My best advice and what I'm learning daily is you are only given this one life so live it the best you can with all your imperfections. God has a place for you in this world and all he has is imperfect people to work with so pray daily that his will be done in you and around you. If you have it figured out then I give you all the kudos!

Romans 12:2 Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
